13th Annual Autumn Food and Wine Jubilee
Awarded the Bronze Medal for the Ultimate Food and Wine Pairing
Mountain Magic Catering team came together once again with their Pâté de Compangne au
Canard (Country Pâté with Duck) and Chappellet Vineyard's 1995 Signature Cabernet.
The
Scene:
A Parisian Cafe/Bistro with French Model sipping on Expresso. Waiter serving Pâté on
toast points so guests could opt not to walk on uneven paved sidewalk of the café. A
postcard rack complete with postcards of the Eiffel Tower, the Champs Elysees and various
other favorite Paris monuments.
Recipe for Success:
The
Food presented on a sculpture of Phill Evans, local artist whose work is on display at
Pogan's Gallery, Tahoe City. It was placed on the buffet table, overlooking a
bicycle leaned against the buffet table whose basket was filled with bread and salami! On
the other side of the table Chappellet's delicious 1995 Signature Cabernet was poured to
delighted guests while they looked over one of Molly Chappellet's best selling coffee
