Tahoe Women's Services, 11th Annual Chocolate Festival
held at Northstar in the Chapparel Room
October 17, 1998 --
Mountain Magic Catering team came together to create....
 "Mountain
Magic's expression of epicureanism in chocolate."
WINNING:
1ST Prize for "People's Choice"
1ST Prize for "Presentation"
Recipe for our Presentation:
- Chef Peter Bowers created a caramelized bittersweet chocolate toasted pecan nut tart
with mahogany buttercrunch topping.
- Chef Dawn Lott created handmade roses, autumn leaves and a variety of daisies in
chocolate so believable that they were considered by most real till advised otherwise! See

- Five plates of these decorated tarts were displayed on a commissioned sculpture of Phill
Evans made of wrought iron with river rock. Phill Evans work can be viewed at Pogan
Gallery in Tahoe City.
- Event Masters provide beautiful linens for the
table. White skirting setting off a lilac tablecloth.
On the table were:
A silver Champagne bucket with Chandon 'Blanc des Noirs' on ice. A family vintage
silver chaffer, candle sticks and glass with elegant off white candles. A silver vase with
long stemmed roses complimented the table.
